It’s Bar Time!

It’s almost time!  Tomorrow starts the bar exam marathon (finally!)  She’ll be in the test tomorrow from 8AM until noon-ish.  Wednesday and Thursday she’ll be in the boiler room from 8AM until 4:30-ish.  Then it’s done.

Maggie’s sister, Lori, has moved in with us to lend a hand while I attend school.  It’ll be great to have her around when Maggie’s feeling rough and I’m swamped with homework.  Yes, my storm’s a brewin’ and will be here soon (the end of August.)  With the oppressive school workload I’m expecting, I fear that I’ll need all my strength just to keep up.  I’ve been diligently battening down the house, wrapping up outstanding issues, closing out old business and getting things tied down so that I can be ready for the Acton furry.  One thing I can’t prepare for or plan ahead for is the times when Maggie needs a little support, like during the days after chemo.  It hurts my heart a great deal to think that I’m not going to be there to dote care on her.  That’s the job I was born to do.  But, for the next nine months, I’m going to have to… I *must* shift my attention.  It’s going to be very tough but it really helps to know that Lori will be around.

Tammy Faye Baker died yesterday of colon cancer.  I’ve never been a fan of Tammy Faye or of what she represents but for her death as a victim of colon cancer I have no words to describe how I feel.  I offer my sincere and deepest condolences to her family.

  1. Big day is here. I’ll be praying for you off and on all morning. Sock it to um, Maggie. So glad to hear Lori is moving in. Bless her. Love you all – Meme

  2. Hey Maggie! It’s Kimberlee Spears from LBJ!

I’m sitting here at Texas Children’s Hospital with Lisa Heyden she’s assisting with anesthesia in my room today…what a small world!

Once we got over the “Hey, don’t I know you?” We did some name dropping of people we keep up with and your name came up and she told me about your website.

Just wanted to let you know I’m praying for you and although we’ve never been close, I’ve always considered you to be one of most unforgettable and genuine people I’ve ever met at school. If you need anything, please let me know! 🙂

    Good luck on your exam!

    Love and many blessings,

  3. I’m going to try my very best to fill the shoes of care giver Chris during the chemo weeks and everywhere in between. Chris, you’ve left her in good hands, I promise!
