Spa Went Fine

Today’s Spa visit went fine – no crazy adverse reactions or dramatic moments.  We got our poisons and came home.

Of course, we’d forgotten how blah the effects of CPT-11 are: the slowing down, the yuck, the fullness, but it sure beats last Friday’s experiences.  And this time we actually got the good stuff that will (hopefully) kill back the tumors.  Nifty.

Maggie is resting now, as I expect that she’ll be doing for the remainder of today, but she’s doing fine.

Thank you for all the well-wishing.  Occasionally I catch Maggie reading this blog, mostly focusing on the messages your write to her.  Sometimes she has a tear and sometimes a smile.  But I know it means a lot to her to know that you all care.

  1. Oh, what great news. Been saying prayers all morning, andsome others are, too. We’re keeping the faith-this is going to work just like the other did. Maggie, dear, hang in there. xoxoxoxo You, too, Chris.
Love you both so very much.

  2. I would love a copy of the two middle pictures above, if that is possible. I tried to print them out myself, but couldn’t. But then there are a lot of things I don’t know how to do on this contraption. LOL Meme

  5. Ohhhh … thank goodness, thank goodness, thank goodness! Although I’ve thought of little else but you and Maggie all day long, I’ve had to be sitting in stupid meetings all day with no chance to check this blog. What a great relief to find out that everything went as it should … even though it’s still not what we’d all prefer would be happening.

Go, CPT-11! Search and destroy!! Search and destroy!!

Hugs, happy thoughts, and continuing prayers every day –

Maggie – you were a trooper, I could tell that CPT-11 was not makin ya feel too chipper. I must say, it is a really nice facility and it seems that everyone had a nice window seat. 🙂 Hugs and love to you both. Let me know if there’s anything I can do for yall… Hugs and Love.

  8. So glad to know everything went smooth. Now Maggie, make sure you rest. We all know how you to love to chat and overextend yourself. Get that massage if you’re up for it, and take it easy. Lots of love to you both!

  9. Glad to hear all went well. I will continue to keep you in my prayers and hope that all goes well. Remember, God does not give us a burden to bare that is too heavy for us. Cast all your fears unto him and he will see you through.

    Be blessed.

  10. I’m so glad you’re doing well. Live for today, for this moment, and battle that cancer with the biggest blunt instrument you can find….I guess that’s CPT-11. If a battle ax would do, I’ll get you one.
    All my love,
    Mom

  11. Good job Maggs! I’m glad it went better yesterday. I wish that the power of love would make everything go away, you would have been cured over a year ago! Coming home soon, can’t wait to see you and the new hair!

I know that you guys have been on an emotional and physical rollercoaster, but please know that people love you, think about you daily and are praying for the best. 16. I have been following your love story since spring of 2008. I feel as though I know each of you. Chris, your writing has been so amazing and I am constantly moved by the tremendous amount of love that you have for your wife. And Maggie, your will to live is evident-and that speaks so highly of your friends, family, and husband. The inner strength that you possess is absolutely crazy! I want you to know that I am following you both on this journey and wishing you endless mornings…
P.S. If the cancer refuses to respond to a Xena warrior, think of doing this on your next Spa treatment–this will require Chris’s participation, and I’m sure he’ll be happy to oblige… (It may be time to get a little 300 up in here!)
Years later, messengers (aka cancer bastards) arrive at the gates of (Spa)rta demanding its submission to King Xerxes. Outraged and offended by their threats and behavior, King (Chris)Leonidas kicks the leader into a pit, defiantly shouting, “This is (Spa)rta!”. Show it who’s boss…
I hope the visual will bring a smile to your face 🙂
    All my admiration,
    Shelaine
