Unexpected Touches

A very good friend of mine who has been fantastically supportive over the last year has, during some of my most difficult times, sent me a wonderful quote that has helped me summon more fortitude than I would have been able to otherwise.  It goes like this:  “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think” – Winnie the Pooh.  What a perfect thing to say.  Today, during a trying time for her, I thought I would return the favor.  Making sure I got the quote just right, I asked The Googles.  Oh, boy.  I found my friend was only quoting half of what Mr. Pooh was saying.  The rest took my breath away.

“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together.. there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart.. I’ll always be with you.”

-Winnie the Pooh

  1. That one is very good. Here is one of my favorites:
“Please, please, please cherish every single moment. Turn every meal into a banquet, every trip into a journey. Life is right here, right now. Milk it for everything you can. You’ll never regret taking the extra time to make every moment special.” ~ Chris Weaver

    1. Wow, how do I respond to this?

I remember writing those words – how I felt, what I was thinking, the pain I felt in my heart, the screaming I heard in my head.

      Cyndi, I’m humbled. Thank you.

      1. My husband just had a major issue with his spine that had us concerned that he may never walk again and I found myself coming back to your words again, wishing for something as simple as hopping in the car to go for ice cream, snuggling on the couch to watch a movie, going for a walk around the block with our dog… he is fine now and we are cherishing these previously mundane moments all over again. Thank YOU.

  2. Thanks Winnie and Chris for jump starting my day! Wonderful what a few words can do when put together in thr right way. What a gift to be able to speak from the heart and lift anothers spirits. Much love. Meme

  3. I LOVE POOH!

Sure, it may garner a few funny looks when I announce that at Target, but his innocent wisdom and gentle love always make me feel peaceful. There is a book called The Tao of Pooh that hits on this effect. Plus he’s just danged cute!
